Tamar by Mal Peet

This is a story about jealousy, secrets, loves and lies.

It is a story about two spies who have been training for when they are sent into Holland in 1944 to help with the Dutch Resistance. When they get there though they both fall in love with the same girl which Tamar (one of the two spies) had fallen in love with before and they begin to not trust one another which is not very helpful when you are trying to stop a war together and instead starting your own against each other. It is quite complicated to understand at first because it keeps on switching every so often to a different year and a different country. Because at the beginning it starts in 1979 and then it goes to 1944 then to 1995 then to 1944 then to 1995 and so on.
This distrust between them leads to a complete disaster and mistakes in which the main blow of the story is made. Where one of them decides to trust not his fellow agent but one that was already there. In order to make the girl who both the agents fom England love come and escape to England with him and live with him for the rest of her life.

Excellent book. Gripping and exciting. I would rate it 10/10! FANTASTIC! :) :) :)
