So one day when mia is at school walking to the playground she hears a fire alarm, then screaming , then.......her bestfriend telling her theres a gunman in the school ! read the book to find out more about mia's life.....

this was a pretty good book i would give it an 8/10 :)

The Crowfield Curse is about a boy called William who lost all his family in a fire in there home he was homeless and had no money he got a job as a servant in a abbey in Crowfield. One normal afternoon William was told to get some firewood and it was that day the day he found the hob was the day his his life changed.A good book I would give it a 8/10. :)  .C.W.

The Killing an amazing read and a better series. They are the best books I have ever read so I advised you to read them too. BUT I know should not say this but I'm going to and if you don't want to hear this, don't read on.......I SAID STOP READING!!!.......just jokes. But the problem is that the first in the series is rubbish but read it anyway because you need to know about the characters.Soooooooo have fun reading it. Also there is another series called Henderson's Boys which are just as good. They also tell you what cherub stands for.

Skullduggery Pleasant mortal coil by Derek Landy

This book is about a girl called Valkrie and a skeleton detective called Skulldugery Pleasant (yes a skeleton detective).While trying to catch a crimanal called Davina Marr they find a bounty hunter called Tesseract trying to kill Davina Marr. Then things got even worse a remnant (aka a thing that posseses people)escaped and realesed the other remnants there are around 1,000 of them.Skulldugery and Valkrie catch them with a giant soul catcher.                                         
  This is a great read that is humorus and action packed at the same time.

Darkside by Tom Becker

This amazing read by Tom Becker was a blockbuster! An amazing book.

The story is about a boy called Jonathan Starling who's Dad is keeping dark, dark secrets from his own son. One day Jonathan slips into his Dad's secretive study which he had never, in his whole lifetime been allowed into, but entered this once when his Dad is out of the house because of his experience of a darkening (you will have to read the book to find out what this is). There he finds out what his Dad is hiding and where his Mum has gone. Later he finds a way to pass into Darkside and then he realises how valuable he is in this murderous parallel London and how much danger he is in, in a city where Vampires and Werewolves walk the streets.

The Enemy

The Enemy is a good book by Charlie Higson. I recommend it for those who like action and gore. Then the grown ups get the diease only children under 14  can survive. I have only read 52 pages

there is a nasty bit when they are near the swimming pool one of my favourite bits so far .

Firefight is a good book because there loads of twists and turns at unexpected moments (and you're not expecting them)
This book is very gripping and is a real page turner I couldn't put it down (but I did sometimes)
I would give this a 9-10 its good but not as good as my other book   clarkers!

Going Solo

Going Solo is a brilliant book about how Roald Dahl   went to Africa to work for shell oil.  He stays in a nice houseAnd then when war breaks out he is sent to fly for the RAF. And then flies in a Hawker Harts.He also tells how he survives snake bites and plane crashes before becoming a Author.I would give this book 8/10.

SNIPER ONE!!!

Sniper One is a great book written in the first person of Sergeant Dan Mills who is the leader of the sniper platoon being sent out to Iraq to fight for England. This book is full of swearing and killing for those of you who like that kind of thing (like me and Charlie H)... it has a really good ending (not giving any clues...) I would give this book a 10/10!!!  It's probably the best book I've ever read... (not saying much though).

War Horse is a fantastic book. It starts about a horse called Joey who gets sold to a boy called Albert, and then.... Joey ends up being a war horse for the English army with his new best friend Topthorn, and then.... Joey is on his own with the Germans without Topthorn. Albert joins the war but will he find Joey?

THE CROWFIELD CURSE...By Pat Walsh...

This book is about a boy called William, who lives at the abbey and  is an orphan (after a fire that all his family were in)
when he finds a hob (a sort of cat like creature that speaks english) injured in the woods, He (with the help of Brother Snail) nurse it back to health...
One day a leper (called Jacobus bone) and his servent (Shadlock) come to the Abbey things start to change...
To be honest this is a really weird book about magic and mystery, I didnt like it, I gave it a 3/10 SS

This book is about a boy called Finlay and a girl called Leonora. Leonora is an orphan after her parents died in a plane crash when she was younger, and Finlay is an average school boy. Leonora escapes from where she lives with her uncle who is a pervert. She goes to Glasgow to look for her grandpa and she finds one of her relatives she has never met. They meet up and have lots of adventures. Leo's uncle chases her and then.....
This is a good book; I would give it a 7/10.

Jacobus and Shadlok are very secretive, they won't eat the abbey's food and Mister Bone never shows his face, one day Shadlok asks Will to come with them to the forest.
What William wants to know is who are these people? Why are they here, and what do they want with Willam?...... I would give this book a 7/10

The boy in the striped pyjamas is a boy who had to leave town because his father had to go because of the army he left town and his friends he had to leave and he ran out to the woods and met a jewish boy and became friends with him and he took him food and found out that he was a servent boy and they got in trouble so his father hit the boy and then he found out that he lost his dad and he helped him find his father and he got ganged into the suits that the boy weres and they tried to find his father and then they went into a big metal tank and they were told that it was a shower but it was accutualy a gasing tank and they were gased before hi family could save him

good book if it was less sad id rate it 10/10 but its to sad for me i rate it 6/10   : (

The Family from One End Street

This book is by Eve Garnett, it's about a big happy family who live on a street called 'One End Street'. They are called the Ruggles family. They have seven children and two parents living in one slightly cramped house.
This book is full of amazing adventures that the Ruggles family get up to. Because the Ruggles family is such an enormous family, they are not incredibly rich and are definitely not spoilt in any way. All they ever get is hand me down clothes and don't go on holidays or get expensive toys. But they still do have lots of fun.
I think this book is very funny and sweet.                7/10        O.M

Z Rex is a good book about a boy called adam and his dad has been taken away by some people the T Rex and adam have to set out and find adams dad. I really enjoy this book because it's exciting and interesting, i recommend you to read this book i would give it 7/10 it is quite a complicated book and hard to understand.

'My Name's Mina' is, to be honest with you a very boring book. It just talks about birds and souls and stuff like that!!! I know I am supposed to make you want to read the book but I would not read it again. Nothing happens at all!If you were into birds and intellectual stuff like that you would love this book. This book is the  or prequel  of 'Skellig'. This book is all about the girl Mina, who is in 'Skellig'.

Mina's dad had died a few years ago and Mina was living with her mum at home. Mina is homeschooled and it says a bit more about it in the book. Mina always goes up in the tree every day and watches the blackbirds and their babies grow up. I would give this book 1/10.M.Donaldson.

Alone On A Wide Wide Sea

This is a really good book split into two sides of the story the first is from a person called Arthur Hobhouse and the second is from his daughter Allie's.

Arthur Hobhouse tells the story of his life. His earliest memory was that he was an orphan from Bermondsey, in London, and that, at the age of six, in 1947 he was transported to Australia to find a new home. He is parted from his sister, Kitty Hobhouse, who he is not sure exists or not. He remembers the time of their parting, at the docks in Liverpool, when she gave him a key, which he calls his lucky key and wears from that day on. He boards the ship and leaves for the country that is to be his home for the rest of his life. Arthur makes friends with a boy called Marty and they both get sent to a farm run by a couple called Mr Bacon and Mrs Bacon. Mr Bacon is mean, selfish, and loud and thinks he is kind but he is not.Mrs Bacon is kind and caring but is completely under her husbands power.

Book 2 -Allie
Allie goes on the search for Kitty, setting up the Kitty 4 website. The Kitty 4 boat is made so that when it is knocked over, it flips back up. It does exactly that. Allie sends emails to her family and during the quest, she finds that her grandpa and a scientist are above her in the sky, she finds out where Kitty is,. Soon she arrives at England meeting an old woman, who is Kitty. She takes the key, puts it into a music box, and it opens, singing London Bridge is falling down, one of Arthur's favourite songs.

The Outsiders by S.E Hinton

The Outsiders is a really really good book.It is about gangs and fighting  and stuff like that.It is good for girls and boys.Lots of exciting things happen and you want to keep reading.There are tow gang called the soc's and the greasers.I would give it an 10/10!!!!!!!!!!!By M.Donaldson!!!!!!

Back Home is a really good book.it is about a girl called Rusty that comes back from the USA the England to  her family.She really doesn't like it because her mum always goes to mend peoples cars because it is the war.She always go off on her own and she doesn't like just staying  around the house,but her mum tells her off.She finds it weird because it is so dark because the war is on,the houses are dark and boring.I think it is a really good book.i would give this book an 6/10,It is a book more for girls not boys.By M.Donaldson!!!

this is the true story of a platoonn of snipers, told by the captain of the platoon. the platoon is posted in al amarah, an afghanistani city. they do patrols, train the local police, and try to keep the peace. but after a rebel leader turned politian decides to be a rebel leader again, and decides to rid al amarah of all foreign forces. suddenly they are under a constant barrage of mortar fire, and have to withstand many attacks on the military base. this a great book. 7/10. kiwi

This book is the 4th in the series of Skulduggery Pleasant books. It is about a girl called Stephanie Edgely who has stumbeled upon a world of magic, and has made herself the partner of private detective and living skeleton Skulduggery Pleasant. To protect herself she has got a taken name, Valkeryie Cain.

in this book she has to stop the Revengers club, a group of all her enemies that she has fought(the ones who are still alive anyway)from stealing the desolation engine, a bomb that has the power to desintegrate everything in its radius.However, to stop them she must rescue Skulduggery from the world of the faceless ones, fight off zombies and vampires, and stop a Remenant from repairing the engine.

One day a boy called Peter arrives and tells her that her parents are looking for her, and they are not dead like she thought!. WAR HORSE

war horse i a really great book about a young horse called joey who was sent off to the army to raise the family a bit of money, Albert,  the horses 16 year old owner wanted to join the army to help him but he was too young.
Joey had me another horse called topthorn who rode alongside him in battle, after a year or two joey and topthorn stopped working as cavalry and started working as farm horses on the local french farms and then not too long after that they werent even needed for that either and they were taken by a young girl called emilie and her grandfather and were needed for nothing.  one year later a group of germans came along and said that they needed them to transport the guns around and after short farewells they working again twice as hard as before. an old man named "Friedrich",  who was very fond of topthorn, was walking them up to the front line of the war every day and one day "topthorn"  joeys friend wasnt as jolly as usuall and was tripping over every root and falling in every pot hole  until after a while he fello over and didnt get up, joey was knocking him to get hip up but he wouldnt. he was dead,  Friedrich was very upset and him and joey stayed for as long as they could until they heard the rattling of machine guns and banging of rifles getting louder and louder and then saw a tank heading straight for them which mad joey run, after about half a mile of hard galloping he turned around, which was  his mistake, there were now 3 or 4 tanks all heading straight for him and then he galloped again and didnt turn back.  he found himself lost quite quickly and ended up in the trenches with the germans on one side and the english on the other,  he was quickly taken by a welshman and taken to the vets to get his cut sorted out by albert, his old owner,  joey knew and tried to tell albert but after five or so minutes he realised it was him.
joey was unwell and needed sorting out,  the vet  did all he could and albert and his freind "david" did all they could and they got him better.
the war soon ended and the men were to go back to england by boat and sadly the horses were to be auctioned in france,  the horses were groomed and washed for the sell day,
joey was one of the last to be auctioned and he was about to go to  a twiggy, scrawny, spotty middle aged man when emilies grandfather came in and beat him on the auction,  albert talked to him and the old man said to him, "i'll make you a deal , you give me one english penny and promise me to look after old joey and i'll give you the horse."
the next morning albert and joey rode into their home village met by all their family and  "maisie" alberts girlfreind.

Silverfin is about a boy called James Bond. He is a young spy. He heard about a death in Scotland, so he heads up and ends up staying in a large old castle. He soon finds out how the boy dies and gets tangled up in the mystery himself. 8/10.  O.S

We start the book with a group of kids on a food scavenger hunt because all the over fourteens have got a illness that makes them go crazy and makes them want to eat other humans. Later in the book a child comes and tells the group of kids to come to Buckingham Palace because it is safe and clean with a good leader so the kids set off on this mission across London were the grown ups are everywhere out to get them they get there and everything changes.  8/10



A great read not for people who have nightmares !

The Head Is Dead

The Head is Dead is a horror story about a girl called Poppy Fields who finds herself investigating a murder. Mrs King isn't the most popular teacher at St Andrews school but when she tells Poppy and her friend Graham to plan a murder mystery trail game at the spring fayre it all goes horribly, horribly wrong.......and THE HEAD IS DEAD!
I would give this book a 9/10 i thoroughly enjoyed it :D

Then finally James meets his greatest surprise of them all...........a man who wants to skin him ALIVE!

Rated by me 10/10 a must read and hard book to put down.

Chris Ryan- The One That Got Away

This book is fantastic. I have some of his later books and although they're good this is better because I know that the story is true. The beginning is a bit slow but then on the chapter "Stand by Stand by Go!" it gets better

In this book Chris Ryan gets sent behind enemy lines and everything they have been given is the wrong equipment. They were given the wrong radio frequencies. Also the desert is a lot colder than they thought so they have to fight for survival. Chris Ryan ends up on his own and has to walk for 7 nights because he had an enemy contact and has to get to the Syrian border.   

I give this book a 10/10 it's great

Chris Ryan Battle Ground

Battle Ground is a book about a boy called Ben Tracey and his mum goes to Pakistan for an exgange to a family who have a daughter called Aarya his mum goes as a nurse at the SAS. They went to school together and she got bullied. So Ben follows the bullies to there house and end up capturing them and taking them on a long car journey. The SAS capture Ben back but the Taliban have got Aarya. Ben ends up with some other soilders ambushing their leader, but it was to late as the leader to Aarya and a nuclear bomb with then to plant at a dam. The SAS send Ben to defuse the bomb through a small narrow path on the edge of a clif. Ben finds Aarya next to the bomb knocked out by the heat and defuses it with seconds to spare. The SAS call in a helicopter and takes them to saftey.                                     J.H

he goes to the dessert and meets zero, x-ray, armpit, magnit, zigzag. horrible women who is really harsh.
