It is about a girl called Stephanie Edgely who has stumbeled upon a world of magic, and has made herself the partner of private detective and living skeleton Skulduggery Pleasant. in this book she has to stop the Revengers club, a group of all her enemies that she has fought(the ones who are still alive anyway)from stealing the desolation engine, a bomb that has the power to desintegrate everything in its radius.However, to stop them she must rescue Skulduggery from the world of the faceless ones, fight off zombies and vampires, and stop a Remenant from repairing the engine.
