This eye-catching book is about a typical twelve-year-old girl named Mira, a quiet, shy girl and she loves one person more than anything, and who plays a massive role in her life - her artistic Grandma ('Nana Josie') who sadly is dying. Although Nana Josie is not the only one who plays a big role in Mira's life, Mira has a crush on her fellow classmate Jide Jackson, who clearly comes from a sad background, this draws Mira in. As time goes by she begins to realise that Mira has secrets of her own, she is on the edge of becoming a woman and she is drifting away from her best friend. How will she react to all this madness?

Great description of the book hazza.I wish my grandma was called Nana Josie.Very well writen.NH
ReplyDeleteSounds like Mira has a very strong relationship with the other main characters in the book. The character clearly has a lot to cope with emotionally, her Nana dying and drifting away from her best friend. With a rating of 9/10, I'm guessing the author dealt with this in a very sensitive way. Well written. SG
