The Lady in the Tower by Marie-Louise Jensen

Eleanor is the daughter of sir Walter. Her mother has been locked up in a tower and the only way she cane communicate with her is to go into the village and give a note a villager called Alice. Eleanor is delighted to see her cousin Gregory for the huge party her farther is holding but when the king  announces that she is to be betrothed to a lord that she bumped into when she was acting to be a servant and he asked for a KISS in return for letting her go. What would Eleanor do in front of the King?  FJM
